Questions about WRRAP, our funding & assistance, and how you can help

Abortion funds provide financial assistance to individuals who need help paying for an abortion or emergency contraception. WRRAP is a nationwide, independent abortion fund providing help for individuals in ALL 50 states, while abiding by all laws and regulations. We work directly with clinics, not individuals, to provide that funding. WRRAP does not demand repayment of the funds. All funding is pledged prior to your procedure, not after, so it is important that you discuss your needs with your clinic.

WRRAP needs your clinic to contact us directly on your behalf.  We work with a network of over 700 clinics, doctors and hospitals in all 50 states. If you need to find a pre-screened clinic or abortion provider that WRRAP is affiliated with for funding, you can do so here.

WRRAP strictly provides funding for abortions and emergency contraceptives. If you are in need of practical support (for example, payment of travel, child care, hotel, gas, etc.) please find a local fund to issue practical support in your area.

Tell the clinic staff about yourself. Tell them the name you want to be called, what pronouns you use, and important things to know about you. Tell them if you have had a previous experience with abortion — good or bad! Tell them if you want a friend, family member, or partner with you. Tell them if you want to be told everything that they are doing, or if you would rather listen to music or chat about movies. Tell them how you want to be treated.

Let go of shame, guilt, or fear. Know that you are making the best decision for you and your life. You are not alone — many people just like you have walked this path. Sometimes reading or hearing about other people’s experience with abortion can be helpful. A great website for abortion stories is wetestify.org.

The majority of people who have abortions in the U.S. are already parents, many are in their late 20s, have attended some college, are low income, unmarried, are in their first trimester, and many have not had a previous abortion.

WRRAP depends on volunteers for our work. If you are interested in any volunteer opportunities, please read through our volunteer page and complete a volunteer application form.

WRRAP depends on donations from individuals. The best way is to donate here online. You can also mail a check made payable to WRRAP and addressed to: WRRAP, 2633 Lincoln Boulevard, Suite 338,  Santa Monica, CA 90405.
